João Paulo Rodrigues Andrade (born November 10, 1988), better known by his stage name John Andrews 1st, is a Portuguese House /Hip Hop /R&B DJ, music producer, remixer and sound engineer from Albufeira (Portugal), currently based in Belgium.
Exposed to music from a young age, he grew up listening to many genres and artists such as Michael Jackson, Pink Floyd, The Bee Gees and Stevie Wonder. These different sounds inspired and motivated him to pursue his dream in the world of music.
In 2009 he finished his studies in Djing and Music Production and since then he has played in great places like South Beach Mozambique (Africa), NoSoloÁgua Vilamoura, Kadoc Club, Capitulo V, Belize Boat Party, Thai Beach Club, Pedras Amarelas, Black Jack and many more.
In 2013, he founded Afrisoul Records to not only showcase their personal work, but also to give up and coming artists the opportunity to showcase their talent.
Working as a producer in the years to come, he always manages to leave a personal signature in his creations and live acts. His own creations have been supported by big names in electronic music like Thommy Davis, Dave Mayer, Richard Earnshaw, Rhythm Staircase and Vinny Da Vinci.
In 2017, he graduated as a sound engineer in Rome (capital of Italy).
Since then, he has been designing all kinds of electronic music for artists around the world.
He has designed several songs for major labels such as Sony Music, Universal Music, Quantize Records, Sony Music Africa, Vidisco Portugal and many others.
In 2019, he opened the label "Soumelo Records" with SupaGloW.
In 2023, after working with "Maca Studio" for two years, he became one of the main engineers of the studio.
